What is Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)?

AMH is a hormone that gives an idea of your ovarian reserve, how many eggs you may have.

Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is a hormone released by small follicles in the ovaries. It helps us understand your ovarian reserve - essentially, how many eggs you may have at this point in time. While it doesn't tell us about the quality of your eggs, it's useful for planning treatment and understanding how your body might respond to fertility medication. It's measured with a simple blood test and often forms part of your initial fertility investigations before seeing one of our doctors.
