Do I need to have had all my vaccinations to start treatment?

Before starting IVF treatment, it is recommended to ensure that you are either vaccinated or have immunity (from previous infection) to chickenpox, measles, mumps and rubella.

Whilst not mandatory, being protected against these diseases can prevent complications that might arise during pregnancy, reducing the risk of severe illness for both you and your future baby. If you are unsure regarding your previous exposure/vaccination history, you can have a blood test for clarification if you wish. Vaccinations are also available for susceptible (i.e. non-immune) individuals but you would need to delay your fertility treatment for 4 weeks after having the vaccination.
