Emma studied Biomedical Science at Liverpool John Moores University before specialising in Clinical Embryology and Assisted Reproduction Technology at the University of Leeds, achieving a distinction in her Master’s degree. She was awarded a prize for her final project, which focused on epigenetics in the preimplantation embryo.
Upon completion of her Master’s degree, Emma joined Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s Assisted Conception Unit as a Laboratory Associate. Here, she embarked upon her andrology and embryology training, learning to perform semen analyses, prepare sperm samples for IVF, ICSI and IUI treatments and undertake oocyte retrievals.
Whilst working at Care Fertility Leeds, Emma attended the Fertility 2023 Conference in Belfast and presented research on whether ICSI is considered necessary in cases of poor sperm morphology.
