What is Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)?

FSH is a hormone that helps your eggs grow, it also gives clues about your ovarian reserve.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) helps your ovaries grow and mature eggs during the first part of your cycle. If your FSH level is higher than expected, it may be a sign that your ovaries are working harder than usual to develop eggs, often linked to a lower egg reserve. We measure FSH with a blood test, typically early in your cycle (days 2-5), to help us understand your fertility hormone balance and guide your treatment plan.
