What is a HSG and do you offer it at Care Fertility?
A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is a type of X-ray that checks whether your fallopian tubes are open and your uterus is healthy. It’s one way of assessing tubal patency - essentially, whether there are any blockages that could make it harder to conceive naturally.
At Care Fertility, we don’t offer HSGs. Instead, we use a similar but more modern ultrasound-based test called a HyCoSy (hysterosalpingo-contrast sonography). Like the HSG, the HyCoSy checks that your fallopian tubes are open, but it’s done using ultrasound.
Currently, w e are unable to offer a HyCoSy as a standalone service outside of our fertility assessment pathway.
