Are both of us legal parents if we use shared motherhood?

The person giving birth will always be recognised as the legal parent, if you are married or in a civil partnership, then your partner will automatically be the second legal parent.

If you are not married, then there are legal parent consent forms that will be issued to you both. During your consultation with the donation practitioner, this will be addressed and the relevant consent sent forms will be sent to you for completion.
