Biography
I am a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 13 years of consultant-level experience in a busy university teaching hospital. My clinical practice spans obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility, with a particular focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care. I currently lead fertility services at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care.
Career
I have extensive experience in clinical governance, including guideline development, serious incident investigation, complaint management, risk management and quality improvement. I am well-versed in regulatory and assurance frameworks, including CNST, CQC and NICE standards, and have contributed nationally as a maternity reviewer for the Ockenden review.
Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about medical education and workforce development. I am an RCOG College Tutor and hold postgraduate qualifications in clinical education. I have been involved in research trials and training improvement initiatives. I was awarded the RCOG Training Evaluation Form (TEF) Award in 2025 for the most improved training for obstetric and gynaecology doctors in a medium-sized hospital unit. I am committed to clinical excellence, strong leadership and continuous service improvement.
