Dr Simone Rofena graduated in Medicine at University of Milan and Specialized in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine at San Raffaele University and Research Hospital in Milan, one of the most advanced scientific institutes in the world. After a very successful career in Italy, he decided to move to the UK to further broaden his expertise to the study of Reproductive Immunology for the treatment of Recurrent Miscarriage and Recurrent Implantation Failure. He has been working at the Zita West Clinic since 2013, first as Senior Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and since 2022 as Medical Director.
Dr. Simone Rofena developed his interest in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility since he was a medical student at the University Hospital and Research Institute San Raffaele in Milan, where he was also involved in clinical research projects. After his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, he held the position of Consultant in the Obstetrics , Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine department of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan until 2013 when he moved to the UK with the qualification of Senior Consultant. His areas of specialization include male infertility, polycystic ovary, diagnosis and treatment of recurrent miscarriages and recurrent implantation failures after IVF, management of low ovarian reserve and patients with poor response to IVF treatment.
Dr. Simone Rofena is member of the European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE).
Dr. Simone Rofena has always centred his IVF approach on the meticulous study of the unique situation of each couple seeking his help. He prepares each consultation by thoroughly assessing the couple’s history and previous tests and treatments outcome, to then move to discuss with his patients what could be the next diagnostic and therapeutic steps in order to increase his patients’ chances to achieve a successful pregnancy. His empathetic approach and extreme attention to details and continuous strive for excellence are extremely appreciated by his patients.
Since starting his career Dr. Simone Rofena has been involved in clinical research and has been coauthor of several scientific publications on peer reviewed journals about cervical cancer screening, polycystic ovary, infertility and IVF. Dr Rofena has also been invited on several occasion as speaker at national and international conferences.
In 2022 Dr. Simone Rofena has been awarded membership from the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain in recognition of his work, commitment and dedication to the treatment of infertility and having helped hundreds of couples both in Italy and the UK throughout his career, to achieve their dream to have a family.
