Sophie Davies is the Laboratory Manager at Care Fertility Cardiff, overseeing the day-to-day running of the embryology laboratory and ensuring the highest standards of care throughout every stage of the process.
Sophie holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Cardiff University. She went on to complete a Master’s in Reproduction and Development at the University of Bristol, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Embryology at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Her expertise lies in maintaining high standards across all laboratory processes, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks, and supporting consistent, high-quality outcomes for patients.
She is particularly focused on optimising laboratory performance, developing team capability, and using evidence-based practices to support treatment success. Sophie is passionate about advancing fertility treatment and delivering a personalised approach within the lab, helping to support patients at every stage of their journey.

She began her career in embryology at the Wales Fertility Institute in Neath Port Talbot Hospital, where she trained as a Clinical Embryologist. She then continued working within the NHS as a state registered Embryologist before joining Care Fertility in 2024.
Sophie’s role focuses on making sure every step in the lab—from handling eggs and sperm to supporting embryo development—is carried out with precision, safety, and care.
