Susan Barlow is Deputy Laboratory Manager at Care Fertility Birmingham. She carries out every part of the laboratory process, including embryo biopsies, and helps keep the laboratory running smoothly. With over 30 years' experience in embryology, Susan also helps train junior members of the laboratory team. She enjoys supporting patients as they work towards growing their families.
Training
Susan earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Portsmouth. She later completed a research-based Master's degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Birmingham.
Career
Susan began her career in clinical embryology in 1991 at Midland Fertility Services, which later became Care Fertility Tamworth. Over her career she has held several senior roles. She was a Company Director of Midland Fertility Services and served as Secretary of the Association of Clinical Embryologists. Drawing on this experience, she co-designed the Tamworth clinic and helped co-ordinate its build. Susan now works in the Care Fertility Birmingham laboratory.
