Dr Shilpi Pandey has over 20 years of clinical experience, specialising in Subfertility and Assisted Conception, with particular interest in pre-implantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders. I also have extensive experience in egg donation, recurrent implantation failure, and fertility preservation. Since 2012, she has been a valuable part of Care Fertility Nottingham in the role of Medical Director & Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist

Shilpi’s personal journey with severe endometriosis and her own experience undergoing fertility treatment have given her a deep, empathetic understanding of the challenges faced by patients. This experience was a key motivation in her decision to pursue a career in fertility medicine, where she is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

Training

Shilpi graduated with Honours and multiple gold medals in MBBS in 1997. In 2002, she completed her MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India. Starting her training in the UK in the same year, she became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2003. Shilpi completed her specialist registrar training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Wales Deanery, achieving CCST.

She successfully undertook a clinical and research fellowship in Assisted Reproduction Unit of the University of Aberdeen, gaining extensive clinical and research experience in reproductive medicine and assisted conception. During her fellowship, Shilpi also obtained British Fertility Society certification in pelvic scanning, assisted conception, management of male sub-fertility and quality management.

Career

With over 20 years of clinical experience in Subfertility and Assisted Conception, with particular interest in pre-implantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders. Shilpi has been a Consultant at Care Fertility Nottingham since 2012 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2015 and became the Medical Director in 2019.

Specialising in various areas of reproductive medicine, including preimplantation genetic testing, egg donation, recurrent implantation failure and fertility preservation, Shilpi is committed to helping patients fulfil their dreams of a family. Nothing makes her happier than fulfilling the deep desire of her patients to have families of their own. She is equally passionate about mentoring junior doctors and actively contributes to research aimed at advancing the field of fertility care.
