Megan Lockwood is the Deputy Laboratory Manager at Care Fertility Manchester and has been a member of the team since 2023. She is passionate about working within a dynamic and highly skilled team, dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.
Megan’s interest in reproductive science began during her studies at the University of Huddersfield, where she completed a placement year at the Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine. As part of the Reproduction and Early Development Team, she contributed to research focused on gametes, embryos, and infertility, which sparked her enthusiasm for a career in embryology.
During her training, Megan developed a strong interest in optimising embryo culture conditions and has presented her research findings at national conferences.
She is also a member of Care Fertility’s Scientific Innovation and Research Focus Group, reflecting her ongoing commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and maintaining the clinic’s high performance.

Following her undergraduate degree, Megan joined Care Fertility Sheffield, where she completed the Scientist Training Programme alongside a Master’s degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, becoming a HCPC-registered Clinical Embryologist.
Since joining the Manchester clinic, Megan has played a key role in delivering outstanding patient care. She is actively involved in developing and improving laboratory processes and procedures to enhance success rates and patient outcomes.
